Hunger in America Hunger exists everywhere in America. Hunger does not care if you live in an urban, suburban or rural setting – it's there – even in our own backyards. Good nutrition is vital in establishing a solid foundation, setting the stage for a child’s future physical and mental health, academic achievement, and economic productivity. Unfortunately, food insecurity is an obstacle that threatens that critical foundation. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), 16.7 million children under 18 in the United States live in households where they are unable to consistently access enough nutritious food necessary for a healthy life. Although food insecurity is harmful to any individual, it can be particularly devastating among children due to their increased vulnerability and the potential for long-term consequences. We aim to eradicate food insecurity in our local school systems through community involvement and support. Your patronage will help to ensure that no child will be left to feel the pangs of hunger. With your generous support, we will be able to sustain more children with the proper nourishment they need to do their very best – everyday.
