Outdriving Hunger: The Impact of Golf for BCFF
The Masters symbolizes excellence in golf, providing an outlet for the players’ skills, dedication, and perseverance to shine. The same determination and commitment that led Ben Curtis to win the Claret Jug now fuels his family’s mission to ensure local children know where their next meal is coming from. With the Masters Tournament quickly approaching, we reflect on the journey and opportunities that golf has allowed us to have—the opportunity we are most grateful for is the ability to give back.
Ben and Candace have turned their passion into purpose through the Ben Curtis Family Foundation. The Ben Curtis Golf Classic—our largest fundraiser—allows the community to come together, have fun, and outdrive hunger. Our 2024 Golf Classic event raised over $130,000; these donations enabled us to distribute 156,000 meals and 104,000 snacks to local children. Just as every golfer relies on a strong team to compete at their highest level, we believe every child deserves a team. The children in our community rely on our foundation and our school champions to build a strong future, starting with the most fundamental need: food. We empower them to focus on education and growth by ensuring that this basic need is met.
BCFF’s goal is to provide food to the kids in our community and fight to end hunger; however, it is vital to acknowledge that we cannot fight childhood hunger alone. Without the efforts of our generous donors and hardworking volunteers, we would not be able to help as many families as we do. Our community partners are more than just helping hands—they are the heart of our work. You are making our communities stronger, one Birdie Bag at a time!
